Prevent a heat stroke:
Stay cool
Stay in an air-conditioned space as much as possible. If you're inside, close windows and curtains during the day and open them at night. You can also use fans.
Wear appropriate clothing
Choose lightweight, loose-fitting clothing made of light colors. Avoid direct sun and wear a hat
Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you're not thirsty. Avoid hot or sugary drinks. You can also try frozen treats like ice pops or frozen fruit bars.
Limit outdoor activities
Try to limit your outdoor activity to when it's coolest, like morning and evening hours. Avoid the sun between 11 AM and 3 PM. If you do go out, pace yourself and cut down on exercise.
Protect against sunburn
Sunburn affects your body's ability to cool down and can make you dehydrated.
Take extra precautions
If you take certain medications, ask your health care team how they can affect your body's ability to stay hydrated and dissipate heat. Also, never leave anyone in a parked car, especially children
